Globalizing Social, Religious, and Human Rights Issues – Hypocrisy and Danger

human rights organizationThere are numerous great Organizations in the world whose devotion and hard work is constant reminder of the global need for cooperation, support and unity. Historical tragedies such as slavery, colonization, world wars and genocides have revealed to the present world that there are such evil that transcends barriers and affects the core of our common humanity.

In the same breath, the global responses to natural disasters like the 2004 Tsunami, the 2005 hurricane in New Orleans, and the outpouring support for the victims of January 12, 2010 Earthquake that shook the island of Haiti is furthermore an example of the care and solidarity that can and should exist in our world.

How to Tackle Human Rights Issues at Work?

human rights organizationIt is unfortunate that workplace human rights issues have not been properly understood by the managers and supervisors because of its complex nature. The onus of preventing human rights violations is the responsibility of management professionals in charge of workplace.

The third report to the UN Human Rights Council, submitted earlier this year, outlines a new policy framework for human rights at work place that comprises three core principles

-Governments’ duty to protect human rights
-Corporate responsibility to respect human rights
-The need for greater access by victims to effective remedies
